St.Charles Elementary's Post on Monday, November 17, 2014

Hey everybody , we are junior reporters. We had a great time at Museomix Mtl. It was a great opportunity and we wish we could do it again. All the teams were very kind and worked well with each other. They took the time to answers our questions and they made us very happy. They showed us their machines like a 3d printer,a laser printer and the oculus goggles. They also let us control a robot that was in a museum in France. When we finished our projects we ended up with great results. We were so surprised that they actually finished their prototypes in three days. We are amazed by how many people re tweeted and followed our tweets. We are so thankful for this great opportunity. Thank you to everybody especially miss McKergow and mme Lafortune for organizing this trip.

Thank You Museomix

Kyle,Evan,Nikko and Lucca Thank you for inviting us to Muséomix . We are very lucky to be the only school chosen to be part of this event. We really appreciate how much time it took to organize such a nice event. On a beaucoup aimé l'imprimente 3-D,le graver laser et tout les autres machines et projects. C'était trés amusant. Les museomixeurs étaient vraiment gentil. We didn't like that it was a bit too rushed. There wasn't enough time to finish our work. On était surpris quand l'homme a fait les café sur un bicyclette et quand il a pedaler ça a fait fonctionner le machine. Dimanche matin les équipes étaient calme et pas stresser pour finir le projet. Over all this was an amazing experience ! Thank you!

Our 3 day Experience At Museomix

Day 1 November 7th, 2014 At Museomix, we witnessed the creative muséomixeurs making their own teams. The teams were getting to know each other while we were just settling in. After the teams were made they took a tour around the museum to get inspiration for their prototype. Once they found their idea they started to make designs. The Jeunes Reporteurs, St-Charles students, were sharing ideas and making blogs, videos and tweets about their experiences. We had so much fun that day! Day 2 November 8th, 2014 The Museomix teams were gathering supplies from the Bébelle Box which included a 3D printer and a laser cutter. Teams were making their final designs, which looked so complex, unique and amazing. All of the teams were working hard at executing their plan! Saturday, November 8th, the Jeunes Reporteurs are getting along while making individual videos for each team. We had so much fun! Day 3. November 9th, 2014 On the final day of Museomix, teams were finalizing their prototypes. The teams were also testing and placing their prototypes for the public to see. We, as Jeunes Reporteurs, were interviewing not only the muséomixeurs but the public too. We had a great experience at Museomix Montréal!! We had a blast at Museomix! We wish we could go again next year. Thanks again to the Museomix organizers for this amazing opportunity!

Museomix

At the Museum of Fine Arts, we the young reporters of St.Charles Elementary School were reporting the inventors of new products. We had the greatest 3 days ever. We liked all of the paintings and sculptures, but mostly the project,Muséomix. We reported the groups of people that we're making prototypes to help make museums better. We also liked their technology, like the 3D printer and the laser printer. We found that we were a little rushed during our Friday experience. The thing that surprised us was how big the museum was. We were surprised to see the way they come up with their ideas and the technology that we have today, to make these things possible. From the Grade 6 reporters #museomixmtl. #lbpsbed #solussier

Brainstorming & Concept Mapping

Brainstorming & concept mapping isn't just for the classroom! They're using it in real life.

Trying Oculus Goggles

Putting on the goggles was awesome! No matter where you looked, we saw things that weren't really there. So this is virtual reality...

An Awesome Experience

Bonding With Team 4

Bonjour, nous sommes avec l'équipe 4 : EXPÉRIENCE IMMERSIVE.
Ils travaillent avec une idée qui va augmenter l'expérience vécue avec l'oeuvre d'art.

They are using a type of technology similar to virtual goggles that will allow the viewer to learn more about this work of art !

Brainstorming

Our second shift of students has arrived. After choosing a team to follow, the students brainstormed ideas for relevant questions to ask them. Teachers facilitated this process by guiding them towards the key points.

Collaboration

What Does the Facilitator Do?

Each Museomix team has a facilitator to help the team stay on schedule, to help communication between members and to support them with the group dynamics. The facilitator does not contribute to the actual project.

Why are there paintings of dead animals? Life was very different then!

Touring the Museum

The student are having a tour of the museum. We are looking at paintings by Bouguereau, Tissot, Batoni, Largillierre and many others. We can see the symbolism in the paintings. We have many questions because we want to understand. We are enthusiastic about learning.
